Streptomyces strains producing gamma-butyrolactone

This study investigates signaling molecules in actinomycetes. Whole genome sequencing was performed on Streptomyces strains with potential for gamma-butyrolactone signaling molecule production, collected in Okinawa, Japan, to analyze the associated biosynthetic genes and biosynthetic gene clusters of secondary metabolites.
