Untapped Solar Potential

This feature layer contains both the solar potential aggregated to tract-level, and the percent of households in that tract using solar. This information allows us to identify tracts that have untapped solar potential. Original data for solar potential came from Global Solar Atlas, accessed via ArcGIS Living Atlas' PV Electricity Output and Horizontal and Tilted Irradiations layers. Original data for household solar usage came from Census' American Community Survey, accessed via ArcGIS Living Atlas' Housing Tenure by Heating Fuel layer. Using these inputs, we ran Zonal Statistics as a Table in ArcGIS Pro to aggregate the solar potential to each census tract. 本要素图层同时涵盖聚合至人口普查片区(tract)级别的太阳能潜力数据,以及对应普查片区内使用太阳能的家庭占比情况。依托此类数据,可精准识别尚未开发太阳能潜力的人口普查片区。太阳能潜力的原始数据源自全球太阳能地图集(Global Solar Atlas),通过ArcGIS 实况地图集(ArcGIS Living Atlas)的「光伏电力产出」与「水平与倾斜辐照度」图层获取。家庭太阳能使用占比的原始数据源自美国人口普查局的美国社区调查(American Community Survey),通过ArcGIS 实况地图集的「按取暖燃料分类的住房权属」图层获取。基于上述输入数据,我们在ArcGIS Pro中运行「分区统计表」工具(Zonal Statistics as a Table),将太阳能潜力数据聚合至各人口普查片区。其他相关资料包括:用于说明本图层制作流程的ArcGIS博客文章,以及配套本图层网页地图的"Top 20"地理列表应用(Geolist app)。
