Mobile telephony subscriptions in Costa Rica 2011-2021, by type

The amount of postpaid mobile telephony subscriptions in Costa Rica has been steadily increasing since 2012, whereas the number of prepaid subscriptions has oscillated throughout the years. In 2021, there were around 5 million prepaid, and about 2.7 million postpaid mobile telephony subscriptions in the Central American country. One year earlier, prepaid clients amounted to approximately 67 percent of the mobile subscriptions in Costa Rica.
