Experimental PZT-Based Electromechanical Impedance Data from Reference and Retrofitted Reinforced Concrete Beam–Column Joints Under Cyclic Loading
收藏资源简介:
Experimental PZT-Based Electromechanical Impedance Data from Reinforced Concrete Beam–Column Joints Under Cyclic LoadingThis dataset contains experimental electromechanical impedance (EMI) response measurements obtained during quasi-static cyclic loading tests of two full-scale reinforced concrete (RC) exterior beam–column joint specimens: a reference specimen and a retrofitted specimen. The retrofitted specimen was strengthened using a hybrid retrofitting technique combining near-surface-mounted (NSM) carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (C-FRP) ropes and externally bonded C-FRP sheets. Three externally bonded piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) transducers were installed on each specimen to investigate the applicability of EMI-based structural health monitoring (SHM) for detecting changes in structural condition during cyclic loading. The dataset includes individual EMI response measurements as a function of excitation frequency, recorded at different experimental stages. For the reference specimen, measurements are available for the initial healthy condition and seven subsequent loading steps, reaching a maximum story drift ratio of 4%. For the retrofitted specimen, measurements are available for the initial healthy condition and six subsequent loading steps.During the sixth loading step (3% story drift), rupture of the externally bonded C-FRP sheet and detachment of the PZT sensors occurred. The dataset includes measurements recorded both before and after sensor detachment. Consequently, interpretations of measurements from this stage should account for potential changes in sensor–structure coupling. Although the retrofitted specimen was tested up to the eighth loading step (5% story drift), no EMI measurements are available for the subsequent loading steps. The experimental data are provided in CSV format, with separate files for each PZT transducer and specimen. Each measurement file contains the excitation frequencies, expressed in kilohertz (kHz), and the corresponding individual EMI responses, expressed in millivolts (mV). Accompanying metadata files provide the identification and original experimental labels associated with each measurement. This dataset accompanies the research article Experimental Investigation of Retrofitting and Structural Health Monitoring of Reinforced Concrete Beam–Column Joints Under Seismic Loading, published in Applied Sciences (MDPI).Associated publication DOI: https://doi.org/10.3390/app162010429
