clutch sizes of 7 largest and australian monitor lizards

Abstract

This data set contains information on the clutch sizes of the seven largest monitor lizards and Australian monitor lizards. This is useful information for conservation and captive breeding programs because it allows breeders to plan and determine how much breeding stock is needed to maintain a population. Studies which stated a clutch size were used. Some studies only stated the average so if a range was not available this was used. The number of clutches used to determine the range of the clutch size was also recoded. Region and subregion were added to clarify where the lizards could be found.
