NRS-5325 | Persons on ships from the United Kingdom, adjacent colonies and foreign parts

Each entry records the ship's name, tonnage, port of departure and date of arrival. The migrants are classified under three headings: male or female; adult or child; and from United Kingdom, adjacent colonies and foreign parts. Before 1841, the migrants are classified under a fourth heading, namely, whether arriving on ships chartered by government, or on private ships on bounty, or on private ships unassisted. In 1841 and later years the arrival of assisted migrants was recorded in separate volumes, and this volume was then used solely to record the arrival of unassisted immigrants. (4/4778). 1 vol.
