City of Rochester Police Department Open Data Portal

For several years, the Rochester Police Department has used its open data portal as a platform for the public to explore and download the Department's data and documents. The portal is part of the RPD's active participation in the national Police Data Initiative, which the Department has been a part of since 2016. RPD aims to leverage open data to encourage joint problem solving, innovation, enhanced understanding, and accountability with the citizens of Rochester. What is available on the RPD Open Data Portal? There are over 300 items hosted on the portal, including: Neighborhood Crime History App Part 1 Crime data from 2011 to the present Maps of RPD Police beats and sections Data sets and a web app detailing homicide incidents from 2000 to the present Data on officer demographics Arrest data Maps and dashboard of shooting incidents Story map explaining the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Initiative Documents, including General Orders, Standard Operating Procedures, Training Manuals, Program Reviews, and MOUs Why is the RPD Open Data Portal Separate? The City's open data portal launched in March of 2020 -- several years after the RPD published their portal. Both use Esri platform technology, and the goal in the future is to combine them both into one cohesive site.
