Understanding the role of inversions in Lake Malawi Cichlids. Maylandia zebra

The Lake Malawi cichlid flock is one of the most spectacular adaptive radiations and model systems for studying adaptive evolution. In this study, we aim to understand the role that chromosomal inversions may have played in the diversification and sex determination systems present in the cichlid species across the seven major ecogroups in Lake Malawi. Here, we publish short reads as well as one chromosome-level and six scaffold-level genome assemblies.
