Chromosome-Level Genome Assembly and Annotation of the quail, Coturnix japonica

An adult female Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) was collected from the breeding companies in Hubei province, China. Ten tissues, including the brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, muscle, spleen, gonad, medial basal hypothalamus (MBH), and PD tissue , were dissected immediately after sampling. All the tissue samples were flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at –80 °C until they were used for DNA extraction. Genomic DNA and RNA extraction, along with whole-genome and RNA sequencing, were performed by Xi’an Haorui Gene Technology Co., Ltd. (Xi’an, China).
