DeepGW

The ancestors of insects are considered to be crustaceans of the phylum Arthropoda, including mollusks, arachnid organisms, etc. In this study, 119 species genomes were selected from the National Center for Biotechnology Information database(https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/), and protein-coding genes were used as the constructed dataset for DeepGW (Table S1). The 119 species were categorized into 38 wingless (i.e., Malacostraca, Arachnida, and Collembola) and 81 winged (81 winged insects in 14 orders) based on the evolutionary characteristics of wings, and the molecular mechanisms of key genes on the origin and evolution of insect wings were investigated by DeepGW .
