Survey dataset accompanying 'A "pre-CURE" activity for introductory biology improves student confidence in conducting scientific research and increases perceptions of preparedness for CUREs'

This data contains pre- and post- survey data from students enrolled in BIOL 191 "Introduction to Organismal Biology" at Nevada State University. The survey quantifies student comfort across eight scientific tasks before and after completing a self-designed experimental project: Find and interpret scientific literature Communicate scientific information and uncertainties and limitations in experimental findings Express scientific concepts clearly and concisely Draw valid conclusions based on statistical analysis Identify variables and control for confounding factors in the experimental process Identify potential sources of error in experimental procedures Address unexpected outcomes when conducting experiments Address complicated experiments in future courses.
