Number of domestic Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia 1999-2023

In 2023, about 184.13 thousand domestic pilgrims fulfilled the Hajj in Saudi Arabia. There was a significant drop compared to over 634 thousand pilgrims in 2019 due to the restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that is considered a mandatory religious duty by practicing Muslims.
