This dataset contains the node and edge data for the multiplex network of seventeenth century natural philosophers.
Information behind the retrieval, cleaning, and annotation of this repository, as well as an analysis of the networks, is described in the paper:

There are 4 edgelists. One for each layer in the in multiplex network, connecting the authors with: 1) affiliations, 2) affiliation places, 3) publishers and 4) publication places.
There are 3 nodelists, containing attribute data on the three node types (authors, affiliations and publishers).
The dictionaries from which the corpus is built are the following:
Wiep van Bunge, Henri Krop, Bart Leeuwenburgh, Paul Schuurman, Han van Ruler and Michiel Wielema, Dictionary of Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Dutch Philosophers (London: Bloomsbury, 2003);
Andrew Pyle. Dictionary of Seventeenth-Century British Philosophers (London: Bloomsbury, 2000);
Luc Foisneau. Dictionary of Seventeenth-Century French Philosophers (London: Bloomsbury, 2008);
