Paired-end shotgun reads generated on the Illumina NextSeq 500 platform. We have reconstructed Allium phylogeny using whole plastid genome sequences from 26 novel accessions as well as 88 previously published accessions. We examined phylogenetic inference for existence of hard polytomies to explore whether some nodes in the Allium plastome phylogeny are more accurately characterized as true polytomies rather than bifurcations.
