GBIF Plant/Animal Occurrence Counts across Antarctic and the Sub-Antarctic 1970-2020

Needed to link various GBIF occurrence download DOIs to a single derived dataset, which requires a URl link to a permanent repository of where the derived data can be accessed. The occ_download_sql function used through rGBIF package to determine total annual count of terrestrial/freshwater (non-marine) animal and plant occurrences added to GBIF across Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic between 1970-2020. Ten searches for different island groups/regions were conducted and counts were summed to determine total. SQL searches only return total annual counts, not specific species lists.
