Effect of V. cholerae biofilm formation and hemolysin production on human macrophages

In this study we determined the gene expression of THP-1 derived macrophages during the interaction with V. cholerae wildtype cells, biofilm-deficient or hemolysin-deficient mutants. V. cholerae wildtype, ∆mshA∆tcpA, ∆hlyA or ∆mshA∆tcpA∆hlyA was exposed to THP-1 derived macrophages in 12-well plates and RNA-samples were taken at different time points after start of the V.cholerae-macrophage interaction. Three independent biological replicates for each sampled time point are provided. As a control, samples containing only macrophages were taken.
