This dataset provides indoor recordings and derived acoustic measurements of budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) vocalizations, designed to support the analysis of sequential pitch and temporal structure in animal communication.The dataset includes (i) raw indoor audio recordings collected under controlled or semi-controlled conditions, (ii) derived measurements of pitch intervals (in semitones) and inter-onset intervals (IOIs, in seconds) between successive vocal units, (iii) segment-level pitch summaries, and (iv) null model samples for statistical comparison.Vocal units were segmented based on voiced signal detection, and fundamental frequency (F0) was estimated using an autocorrelation-based method implemented in Praat via Parselmouth. Pitch intervals were computed as logarithmic differences between adjacent units, and IOIs were defined as onset time differences within recordings.In addition, the dataset includes a reference metadata table for field recordings obtained from the Xeno-canto database, ensuring full traceability and reproducibility. Original field recordings are not redistributed but can be accessed via provided URLs and associated licenses.This dataset supports reproducible research on the relational organization of vocal sequences, particularly the structured patterns of pitch transitions and temporal clustering in a vocal learning species.
