16S rRNA gene sequencing of cloacal and oral microbiota in Crocodylus acutus

This project characterizes the bacterial communities of the cloacal and oral microbiota in juvenile and adult Crocodylus acutus maintained in captivity. High-throughput sequencing of the V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene was performed using the Illumina platform to assess microbial diversity and community structure across age groups and anatomical sites. The resulting data provide insights into the composition of crocodilian microbiota and contribute to the broader understanding of reptilian host-microbe interactions.
