Fake news has become an ever-growing issue in the news and media industry, and the risks it presents concerns media experts and consumers alike. The coronavirus outbreak has been the target of numerous misleading and even false information relayed on different platforms and social networks. As of 2021, more than half of respondents claim to have spotted fake news relayed by the media they consult the most.
