Europartycheck: VAA User Data and GEPARTEE Expert Survey (Party Positions)

GEPARTEE (German Parties before the European Elections 2024) is an expert survey project aiming to positions the German parties on the main dimensions of political competition. It contains variables on economic, cultural, European and populism issues, combining new items and adapted items from established expert surveys such as CHES, POPPA and GPS. Our main goal is to provide data for the European Elections campaign for 2024. We also dedicate special attention to new parties such as BSW (Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht) and minor parties established at the regional level such as Freie Wähler and Volt, which are likely to win seats in the European Parliament. Europartycheck is a Voting Advice Application (VAA), which was fielded for the European Election 2024 using the GEPARTEE party positions to place parties. It contains data from more than 40,000 respondents on 15 core VAA items plus items from an additional questionnaire. This repository contains the following data: - Codebooks - GEPARTEE Expert-Level dataset - GEPARTEE aggregated dataset (aggregated by median; parties with less than 5 experts removed but are included in expert-level dataset) - Expert-level long dataset with median, mean and n for every variable/party combination - Europartycheck full unweighted dataset - Europartycheck weighted dataset - Europartycheck quasi-representative weighted quota sample (n=2000)
