Argo BathYmetry SenSing (ABYSS)

This archive contains Deep Argo ocean bathymetry detection based on information in Argo trajectory, metadata, and technical files.

The product includes locations, depths, and times of ocean bathymetry detection using Deep Argo floats, along with an estimated horizontal position displacement. Metadata will be included to identify the Argo float model, WMO number and cycle during which the ocean detection grounding occurred. Multiple Deep Argo float models contribute to this product and some profile to deepest depth upon descent while others profile upon ascent. Bathymetry detections are associated only with profiles made during the deepest descent. Therefore, for some floats, the bathymetry detection occurs right after descent and for other floats, it occurs right before ascent. Refer to Zilberman et al (2025) paper for further details.
