Talaromyces adpressus is a species isolated from lignocellulosic biomass of Arundo donax during biodegradation under natural conditions from Gussone Park of the Royal Palace of Portici, Naples, Italy. The strain has been selected for its ability to secrete numerous biopolymer degrading enzymes such as endo- and exo-cellulase, cellobiase, xylanase, pectinase and laccase.
