Key drivers of voluntary carbon credit demand worldwide 2023

Members of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) identified the increase in corporate net-zero pledges as the biggest driver for growing demand for voluntary carbon credits in 2023. The second-biggest driver, according to IEA members, was demand due to compliance obligations from markets such as the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
