Influence of land use change on soil physical and chemical characteristic in Gibe District, Hadiya Zone, Central Ethiopia
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains soil physical and chemical properties collected from different land use types in Gibe District, Hadiya Zone, Central Ethiopia. The study evaluates how land use change (e.g., parkland, grazing land, and cultivated land) affects key soil quality indicators. The dataset includes measurements of soil physical properties such as bulk density, soil moisture content, and texture (sand, silt, and clay fractions), as well as chemical properties including soil pH, soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), available phosphorus (Av. P), and cation exchange capacity (CEC). Land use change is known to significantly influence soil quality by altering both physical structure and nutrient composition, often leading to reduced fertility in cultivated lands compared to natural vegetation systems. The data were collected from representative land use systems at different soil depths and analyzed using standard laboratory procedures. This dataset supports research on soil degradation, land management, and sustainable agricultural practices in Ethiopia.
