Datas "Standard area diagram to estimate the severity of anthracnose in tree tomato leaves"

The aim of this study was to develop a standard area diagram (SAD) to evaluate anthracnose severity on tree tomato leaves. The SAD was developed and validated with eight levels of severity: 0 (0%), 1 (0.10 – 0.50 %), 2 (0.51 – 1.00 %), 3 (1.01 – 2.00 %), 4 (2.01 – 4.00 %), 5 (4.01 – 8.00 %), 6 (8.01 – 14.00 %), 7 (14.01 – 32.00 %) and 8 (32.01 – 70.00%). The validation of the SAD was performed by 9 raters. These raters estimated the severity in 50 tree tomato leaves with different levels of severity, previously measured by a computational software. The accuracy, precision, repeatability and reproducibility of each rater were determined by simple linear regression and Lin's concordance correlation coefficient. Without the SAD, most of the raters overestimated the severity of the disease. The SAD proposed in this study, constructed from color photographs, was appropriate to aid in the visual estimation of the severity of anthracnose in tree tomato leaves and can be used in epidemiological and/or follow-up studies to decision making regarding the need for disease management.
