Während in Bamum der Häuptling den 'Schulzwang' ausübt und diejenigen Kinder schickt, die er ausbilden lassen will, kümmert sich der Balihäuptling wenig darum, wer von seinen kleinen Untertanen von der Weisheit der Weissen nippen will. Das hat sein gutes, denn so kommt auch das lernbegierige Kind des geringen Mannes in die Schule und zudem kommen die Kinder freiwillig und gern. In Bamum the chief enforces school attendance on the children he wants to have educated. The Bali chief pays little attention to the question which of his small subjects want to taste the wisdom of the whites. That has its good side, becasue you can find the child of the poor man who wants to learn something in school, and the children attend voluntarily and want to be there.
