Genetics of Osteoarthritis and Lifestyle (GOAL)

X-rays at baseline for 2000 hip and knee OA patients and 1200 controls, serum and urine samples for all, WOMAC pain questionnaires, follow up pain, QoL, medical history surgery history 10 years later for a subset of n=1200 participants. Includes age, sex, body mass index, knee or hip OA, history of joint replacement, anxiety, and depression. Can be used to examine the association between adrenergic blocker prescription and at least moderate joint pain (WOMAC score <75) and use of prescription analgesics
