Exploring the Anaerobic Microbial Reduction of Isoprene

This project investigates the anaerobic microbial reduction of isoprene, a process with significant implications for understanding microbial metabolism in anoxic environments. Isoprene, a common unsaturated hydrocarbon found in nature, can serve as an alternative electron acceptor for certain anaerobic microbes. This study focuses on the identification of key anaerobic microbial players involved in reducing isoprene within eucalyptus soil sediment.
