Characteristics of wintertime VOCs in urban Beijing: composition and source apportionment

Ambient measurement campaign took place during winter 2017 in Beijing, China. The sources of volatile organic compounds were disclosed measured by proton-transfer-reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometers (PTR-ToF-MS). Ten VOC families showed clear dependence on the VOC concentration. The application of the novel positive matrix factorization receptor model enables the identification of anthropogenic and OVOC sources. Besides, a detailed comparison of VOC and OA source composition provided new proofs on SOA formation.
