We have sequenced partial fragments of the Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase gene (rbcL) in four newly-isolated sea ice diatoms (described Brown et al. 2014 Nature Communications): Haslea vitrea CCAP 1035/2, Haslea crucerigoides CCAP 1035/3, Haslea ostrearia, and Nitzchia frigida. As reference we also included Fragilariopsis cylindrus RCC4289 obtained from the Roscoff Culture Collection in France.
