Number of new active substances approved by EMA by therapeutic area 2021

In 2020, a total of 39 new active substances were approved by the EMA (European Medicines Agency), 11 of which were for oncology. In comparison, in 2021, there were 55 new active substances approved, with 12 substances approved for oncology.
