Adult Health Barometer 2021-2022 (BSA21)

As part of the Pacific Dataviz Challenge 2024, the Health and Social Agency of New Caledonia (ASSNC) is publishing in open data the data from the health barometer carried out between 2021 and 2022. The BSA21 is a population-based survey carried out periodically with the aim of describing the current levels of the main risk factors for chronic diseases in the new caledonian adult population aged 18 to 64, using the WHO STEPS survey method. As the sample sizes for the Northern provinces and the Loyalty Islands were over-represented in relation to its actual distribution, the gross sample is not representative of the population aged 18-64 in New Caledonia. The statistical weight of individuals was therefore adjusted by the Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (ISEE) on the basis of data from the last population census in 2019. Statistical analysis based on this dataset must therefore take account of the weights assigned to each individual in all calculations: "poids_step1” column for analysis of individuals who responded to the questionnaire (the entire database) "poids_step2“ column for analysis of individuals who participated in STEPS2 (”Step2” = yes) "poids_step3“ column for analysis of individuals who participated in STEPS3 (”Step3” = yes) Please note: The data represent only a sample of the barometer.
