"The OLR data were acquired from the NOAA series of polar-orbiting satellites, which comprises 18 satellites since the launch of the first unit in 1970. We specifically utilized NOAA-18, launched on 11 May 2005, with an orbital altitude of ~850 km, inclination angle of 98.739\u00b0, and orbital period of 102 minutes. The satellite completes 14.2 orbits daily, providing global coverage every 24 hours for visible channels and twice-daily coverage for infrared channels. The OLR data have a spatial resolution of 2.5\u00b0\u00d72.5\u00b0 with 0.1 W\/m\u00b2 precision (ftp.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/precip\/noaa18_olr, last accessed 15 January 2025). To minimize solar radiation effects, exclusively nightside observations were analyzed."
