LGRB-BW BK50-Moor: Wetland and Moor Dissemination

The BK50-Moor is an extract of the groundwater soils rich in bog and humus from the Baden-Württemberg soil map (BK50) as part of the integrated geoscientific survey of the State Office for Geology, Raw Materials and Mining (Government Presidium Freiburg, Section 9). The design, implementation and data preparation of the BK50 is tailored to the scale range 1:25 000 to 1:50 000. The BK50 moor represents a revised version of the Baden-Württemberg moor map of the LUBW (BW moor map), with a clear focus on the soil history classification of the developed soil types. Unlike in the LUBW moor map, the BK50 moor covers the whole range of humous groundwater soils. It illustrates the soil water conditions around the actual moor or covered peat body. The legendary units, which are not clearly assigned to high and/or low bogs, partly cover a further range of associated groundwater and reservoir soils. For the BK50 moor, the data from the LUBW moor map were taken over in the Rhine Valley and the Black Forest. All other areas were created by field surveys as part of the preparation of the BK50 and evaluation of the forest site mapping (FVA), the digital terrain model DGM1 (LGL) and the soil estimate (FA) and adapted or corrected if necessary to the spatial conditions. The geometry data are described with information about the soil type, the starting material of the soil formation and additionally with a PDF data sheet.
