Tunable mutation rate E. coli strain NS001 samples

A study of the influence of the mutation rate on the evolution of E. coli strain NS001 in Supplemented M9 grown in a platereader. The mutation rate of NS001 was varied over two orders of magnitude by adjusting the concentration of inducers anhydrotetracyline (which controls mutH expression) and IPTG (which controls mutL expression) to vary the level of mismatch repair occurring during the course of evolution and thus the point mutation rate. Each sample was evolved at a constant mutation rate for 42 days, there are 4 samples for each mutation rate condition and each mutation rate condition was sequenced at two times. NS001 was also sequenced before the evolution experiment.
