资源简介:
The tailless tenrec (Tenrec ecaudatus), also known as the common tenrec, is a species of mammal in the family Tenrecidae. Native to Madagascar, it is also found on the Comoros, Mauritius, Reunion, and Seychelles island groups, where it has been purposely introduced (from Wikipedia entry). This sample was collected by Allyson Hindle from an individual bred in captivity at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and coordinated by Ryan Langlois to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). The sample consists of ~6 million primary dermal fibroblast cells at passage 6, not transformed. The sex was determined to be male based on a spectral kmer plot of the genome assembly. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
