A dataset of forest ecosystem structure and stand age over the Tibetan Plateau was constructed via literature collection and database integration. This dataset encompasses variables including stand age, aboveground/belowground biomass, geographic location, and forest type. The establishment of this dataset facilitates in-depth comprehension of the relationships between forest biomass and stand age, as well as their distribution patterns across the Tibetan Plateau region. The data were derived from 118 peer-reviewed literature sources and 282 field sample plots. Duplicate entries and outliers were eliminated, and the plots were classified into coniferous forests, broadleaved forests, and mixed forests based on their dominant species or vegetation types. Following rigorous data integration and cleaning procedures, the credibility and accuracy of the dataset have been ensured, resulting in high-quality data. This dataset can provide fundamental data support for research on forest ecosystems in the Tibetan Plateau, such as validating simulations of carbon cycle processes in ecosystem models.
