The dataset contains model predictions of the growth potential for 25 European tree species, as well as model predictions of climate suitability for 30 tree species. We used site index models (SIMs) to estimate growth potential and species distribution models (SDMs) to model climate risk. With each model we made then predictions for the periods 2011-2040, 2041-2070 and 2071-2100, as well as for the the reference period (1981-2010) and two climate change scenarios (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5). Detailed description of the methodology can be found XXX.  To transform the continous Site index into (0 to 1) into Height (in meters) at Age 100 you have to apply a Equation 3 (the values SI_Q.05 and SI_Q.95 can be found in Table 2). Same applies to the SDMs: if you are interested not in the current continous occurence probability (0 to 1), but in defined classes you could apply the thresholds as described in Supp. Material 2 or use your own.   This dataset was created and within the EVA project (Evidence based tree species recommendations under climate change, 2021 to 2024) funded by the forest climate fond (Waldklimafond) and the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft).
