资源简介:
The Coupling, Energetics, and Dynamics of Atmospheric Regions (CEDAR)
Data Base at NCAR/HAO holds information on theoretical models and
source code for several empirical models.
Theoretical models include:
AMIE: The Assimilative Mapping of Ionopsheric Electrodynamics.
Produces output on electric fields and conductances. Contact Arthur
Richmond or Barbara Emery.
CTIM and CTIP: The Coupled Thermosphere Ionosphere Model and Coupled
Thermosphere Ionopshere Plasmasphere model are global models of the
themosphere and ionosphere above 80 km. Contact person is Tim
Fuller-Rowell.
FLIP: The Field Line Interhemispheric Plasma model solves for plasma
densities and temperatures along flux tubes. The code is available from
Philip Richards.
GLOW: A thermospheric airglow model developed by Stan Solomon.
TIGCM, TIEGCM, and TIMEGCM: The Thermosphere/Ionosphere General
Circulation Model (TIGCM) has been expanded to solve for
electrodynamics (TIEGCM) in low and mid-latitudes, and extended to the
mesosphere (TIMEGCM). Contact Raymond Roble or Barbara Emery.
VSH: The Vector Spherical Harmonic produces thermospheric (110-1500
km) global neutral winds based on TIGCM model runs. Source code is
available from Timothy Killeen.
Empirical Models include:
APEX: a geomagnetic field model. Richmond (1995), Van Zandt , et. al
(1972).
CHIU: Chiu model electron densities. Chiu (1975)
E FIELD: gives quiet-day ionospheric electrostatic potential and E X B
drifts at 300 km for magnetic latitudes below 60 degrees during polar
minimum conditions. Richmond, et. al (1980).
HMR: gives electric potential and fields defined by Rich and Maynard
(1989) from patterns described by Heppner and Maynard (1987).
HPI: tables of interpolations of the NOAA satellite auroral electron
flux, Pederson and Hall conductance, and characteristic energy based
on the Hemispheric Power Index (HPI). Fuller-Powell and Evans (1987).
HWM: Horizontal Wind Model gives neutral winds. Hedin, et. al (1988),
Hedin, et. al (1991)
IRI: returns neutral temperatures and ionospheric parameters and ion
composition. Bilitza (1986).
IZMEM: Electric potentials and fields. Papitashvili, et. al (1994).
MAGFLD: geomagnetic field model for 1965-1995.
MH: Electric potentials and fields parameterized by HPI and Millstone
Hill data. Foster (1987), Foster, et. al (1986).
MSIS: returns neutral temperature and composition values. Hedin
(1983), Hedin (1987).
WEIMER: Electric potentials and fields. Weimer (1996).
The CEDAR Data Base is accessible through the WWW and ftp, but users
must have a valid access form, available from the WWW or ftp (see
Access and Use constraints) or contact Barbara Emery
(emery@hao.ucar.edu). See the WWW site for additonal information on
accessing the data and Rules of the Road procedures.
