On 04/08/2019, a forest fire was declared in the Municipality of La Granja de San Ildefonso, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León. As a consequence of this fire Sierra de Guadarrama National Park is threatened. The Sierra de Guadarrama accounts for a representative sample of the high-mountain Mediterranean natural systems, such as shrubs and Alpine pastures, pinewoods, Pyrenean oak woods, peat lands with glacial and periglacial landforms, and mountains landscapes with geological extraordinary elements.<br>
