资源简介:

Preterm birth (babies born before 37 weeks) is a major cause of illness and death in children. This thesis explored how women's work conditions affect preterm birth and whether policies support pregnant employees. By synthesising global studies, analysing policies, and using long-term data from Australian women, the research found that high physical workload, long working hours, and job strain increase preterm birth risk. However, evidence on other risks, like standing or lifting, was weaker. Many workplace and maternity policies do not fully reflect current evidence. The findings highlight the need for better guidelines to protect pregnant women at work.
