The rapid dissemination of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as a serious health problem on an unprecedented global scale. AMR is predicted to kill more than 10 million people annually by 2050 leading to huge economic losses worldwide. Therefore, urgent action is required at the national as well as international levels to avert this looming crisis. Effective surveillance can play an important role in the containment of AMR spread by providing data to help determine AMR hotspots, predict an outbreak, maintain proper stewardship and propose immediate and future plans of action in this respect. Although many existing databases provide genetic and molecular information on AMR in microorganisms, there is no dedicated database of AMR from non-clinical samples. The FEAMR database is a one-of-its-kind database to provide manually collated and curated information on the prevalence of AMR in food and the environment.
抗菌药物耐药性(antimicrobial resistance, AMR)的快速传播已在全球范围内演变为前所未有的严峻公共卫生问题。据预测,至2050年,抗菌药物耐药性每年将导致超1000万人死亡,并造成全球巨额经济损失。因此,无论国家层面还是国际层面,均需采取紧急行动以规避这场迫在眉睫的危机。有效的监测工作可通过提供相关数据,助力识别抗菌药物耐药性热点区域、预测疫情暴发、落实规范的抗菌药物管理,并为该领域的当前及未来行动方案提供依据,从而在遏制抗菌药物耐药性传播方面发挥关键作用。尽管现有诸多数据库可提供微生物抗菌药物耐药性的遗传与分子信息,但目前尚无专门针对非临床样本抗菌药物耐药性的数据库。FEAMR数据库便是此类首创性专属数据库,旨在提供食品与环境样本中抗菌药物耐药性流行率的人工整理并经专业审校的信息。
