Peroxisomes are sometimes associated with lipid bodies as they are in this example. This cell was pretreated with 4% DMSO which increases the permeability of its membranes. Thus the peroxisomes are strongly stained following hydrogen peroxide and diaminobenzidine incubation. TEM taken on 4/7/83 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A operating at 75kV. Neg. 12,250X. Bar = 0.5µm.
