Bovine dermatophytosis (ringworm) is a contagious skin disease of economic importance predominantly caused by Trichophyton verrucosum. However, its associated skin microbiome has not been characterized. We used 16S/ITS sequencing to profile the bacterial and eukaryotic communities of the skin of healthy calves and those with natural infections.
