Diffusive Staircases in Shear: Data from Numerical Simulations

The numerical work presented here contains a number of simulations pertinent to the evolution of diffusive staircases in the Arctic. These systems exist in the Arctic halocline, which has temperature and salinity both decreasing with depth. The focus of this study is on the effects of shear on such staircases and thus, these simulations include a linear background shear. The code used to generate these simulations is outlined in depth in Brown & Radko (submitted to the Journal of Ocean Modeling) and the simulations are analyzed in Brown & Radko (submitted to the Journal of Physical Oceanography).
