Whole genome sequencing of Oryza longistaminata. Oryza longistaminata strain:IRGC110404

The nuclear genome of the African wild rice Oryza longistaminata (accession IRGC110404) was sequenced. A combination of SMRT reads and short, paired-end reads was used for primary assembly and error correction. Scaffolding was based on a linkage map and gene synteny. In addition to the genome a transcriptome of eight diverse tissues was produced and used to aid gene prediction in the newly assembled genome.
