Vibrio cholerae whole genome isolates from the 2023 Zambian outbreak

The 2023 cholera outbreak in Zambia highlighted the persistent threat posed by V. cholerae, particularly in regions with frequent cross-border interactions and inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure. The genetic diversity of isolates, coupled with the emergence of multi-drug resistant strains, emphasizes the urgent need for enhanced genomic surveillance and regionally coordinated interventions. We performed whole-genome sequencing using Oxford Nanopore Technology on the collected isolates.
