A global dataset of annual degree of urbanisation from 2010 to 2020: a three-tier urban rural continuum of urban centres, urban clusters and rural areas

Data Description Overview This dataset provides a global dataset of the annual degree of urbanisation with a three-tier urban rural continuum of urban centres, urban clusters and rural areas at a spatial resolution of 1 km from 2010 to 2020. All spatial materials are released in standard raster and vector formats to support diverse cross-disciplinary spatial analysis research. The dataset uses a consistent global equal-area projection and and the area of each mapped unit is recorded in square kilometres. These spatial layers are fully compatible with common GIS platforms and statistical programming tools for multi-domain geographic and environmental research.
