NCEP Reanalysis - Forcing dataset (for MARVL)

NCEP - National Centers for Environmental Prediction Reanalysis Model NCEP is an archive of hourly surface heat flux components (latent, longwave, sensible, and shortwave), surface air temperature, cloud cover, precipitation, and wind velocities from the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis, version 1 a global atmospheric reanalysis. Data are archived for the period 2008-2013. Details of this reanalysis can be found at: https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/data/gridded/data.ncep.reanalysis.html. This forcing dataset has had contributions from the following: https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/ds093.0/; https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/ds094.0/; and https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/ds094.1/. This is purely a description of the forcing dataset used within the MARine Virtual Laboratory (MARVL).
