Updated nightly. While this layer is a live layer and updated nightly, please note, once this data is downloaded it becomes static information. GMUs are generally mapped to follow surface water catchment boundaries and geological features (e.g., surface boundaries, fault lines). The region’s water demand distribution is also used to inform the size of the GMU, i.e., areas with higher water demand will be divided into smaller GMUs to more sustainably manage cumulative effects. Primary GMUs are identified across the whole region. Secondary (upper) GMUs are located above the Primary GMUs in a limited number of locations, based on the feasibility of productive groundwater bores being installed in both layers, current (or potential for) demand from both layers and the degree of hydraulic separation between the aquifers. The sustainable groundwater allocation availability is based on a simple water balance approach, guided by a conceptual understanding of regional hydrogeological and hydrological processes. A portion of the annual rainfall recharge to the groundwater system is set aside to maintain flows to springs and streams. The remaining groundwater volume was then allocated as 15% in coastal areas and 25% inland. The mass water balance for each groundwater catchment has been calculated by PDP. Details of the calculation methodology is provided in the report Groundwater Allocation Limits for the Bay of Plenty Region. ETL Name is ‘Groundwater Management Unit - Secondary’ and is set to run daily. Field descriptions Groundwater Unit Code: An identifying code for each groundwater management unit (GMU). Groundwater Management Unit: Spatial area which is assigned a common groundwater sustainable yield for the purpose of groundwater allocation accounting. Freshwater Management Unit: the freshwater management unit each GMU falls within. Available Allocation (Mm3/y): the amount of water available to be allocated in million cubic metres per year (Mm3/y). Allocated Groundwater (Mm3/y): that amount of water already allocated via consents in Mm3/y. Allocation Remaining (Mm3/y): the amount of water still available to be allocated. Allocation Remaining (Mm3/y) = Available Allocation (Mm3/y) - Allocated Groundwater (Mm3/y). Allocated Groundwater (%): the percentage of available allocation that has been allocated. Allocation Status: a description of the allocation status based on Allocated Ground

剩余可分配水量(Allocation Remaining, Mm³/a):当前仍可分配的地下水量,计算公式为:剩余可分配水量(Mm³/a)= 可分配水量(Mm³/a) - 已分配地下水量(Mm³/a)。
